Our City, Our People, Our Music

NBCO invites you to "Our City, Our People, Our Music" to come celebrate the rich musical tapestry of our area at our upcoming full orchestral concert highlighting local cultures.

The American experience is reflected in Aaron Copland's iconic “Appalachian Spring”. “Under the Night Sky in the Philippines", a world premiere, captures the romance of Pacific Islands. Our lively Hispanic scene is the focus of the wildly popular, flamboyant composition “Danzón No. 2” by Arturo Márquez. The tabla, a pair of hand drums with an amazing range of percussive effects, highlights the richness of the Asian culture in Eric Watson’s “Dialogue for Tabla and Orchestra". We will also showcase Voyager Reeds, who will be ending their residency with us after an outstanding salon series.
